The Challenge

Although transportation may not be a headline issue for some, the impacts of transportation are felt by all—residents, businesses (particularly small businesses) and communities. To keep residents and businesses across Connecticut informed of the critical role of public transportation and ongoing projects, the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) and its program, CTrides, set out to create an event to showcase these initiatives.

The Strategy

We knew it was essential to create an engaging event that would attract not just those invested in transportation, but also residents and businesses, many of whom were not aware of how these projects would impact them. The inaugural Transportation Showcase: Keeping Connecticut Moving—The Future of Transportation was born.

We coordinated all aspects of the event from branding and venue selection to participant outreach. The event was supported by paid social and digital display campaigns, as well as earned media efforts including press release and media alert creation and distribution, and pitching to secure coverage for the event.

Following the success of the inaugural event, CTDOT and CTrides partnered with our team again to bring the showcase back for a second year: 2026 Transportation Showcase—Connecticut on the Move. Building on the momentum and insights from year one, we refined our outreach strategy, expanded the event to two panel sessions from one the previous year, as well as added the ability for vendor tabling and participation, and generated even greater audience demand and engagement.

The Outcome

Our efforts for the inaugural event exceeded the original attendance goal of 175 attendees by 20%, with additional walk-ins arriving onsite looking to register and attend. Earned media placements also drove more than two million impressions.

In year two, the event’s momentum continued to grow. We not only met the expanded attendance goal of 250 attendees, but the event sold out entirely. Due to overwhelming demand, we released an additional 20 tickets, which also sold out, bringing total attendance to 270 attendees and exceeding the attendance goal by 8%.

The continued growth and back-to-back sellout success demonstrated the event’s value as an important platform for connecting Connecticut residents, businesses and transportation stakeholders around the future of mobility in the state.
