Mintz & Hoke CEO Chris Knopf
AVON, Conn., October 28, 2010 – Between the huge photo and four-page article in the November 2010 issue of Hartford Magazine, you couldn’t miss Mintz & Hoke CEO and author Chris Knopf. The piece includes interviews and insights from the worlds of publishing and mystery writing.
George Easter, editor of the review publication "Deadly Pleasures," made some particularly interesting observations about how the publishing business has changed, “Many larger publishers give a writer two or three books to reach a certain sales figure and if they don’t, they don’t renew a contract. Writers such as Tony Hillerman, Sue Grafton and Harlan Coben wouldn’t make it to the big time in today’s market because they didn’t hit it big until around their seventh or eight books.”
With six-plus books under his belt now and eight planned by May, it looks like Chris will have amassed enough audience to keep publishers interested. Peter Joseph, Chris’s editor at Thomas Dunne/St. Martin's pointed out that Chris developed faster than some authors thanks to his many years writing in communications. Jon Jordan, editor of Crimespree Magazine, who also knows Chris, noted that presentation and PR skills honed throughout his “day job” also help with book promotion.
Added to appearances, reviews and workshops, the article confirms Chris Knopf’s position as an established author and a Connecticut writer of note.
