Mintz & Hoke PR Team Receives Industry Recognition

AVON, Conn., July 10, 2010 – This season’s crop of communications awards recognizes recent Mintz & Hoke business-to-business (B2B) work across categories ranging from employee communications to public affairs to integrated marketing.

The Publicity Club of New England’s Bell Ringer Awards recognized work for one of Mintz & Hoke’s newer clients, Pexco – twice. One award went to a creative employee communications program to counteract years of haphazard growth and minimal communications that left employees often confused and pessimistic. Under the line, “What will you make today?” the program helped restore pride and confidence, while keeping employees engaged in the company’s successes at seven plants from Tacoma to Mexico, which previously had little to do with each other. The campaign included a video, newsletter, web content and launch materials.

The second award was for the corporate identity program for Pexco, a conglomerate created from a series of acquisitions and which has undergone several name changes on top of that. Mintz & Hoke created a cohesive and exciting system building on the each product group’s strengths.

The Business Marketing Association’s ACE Awards in NYC recognizes the best B2B communications in the business for creativity and effectiveness. It took both to convince specifiers of energy controls and building management systems that a Herman Miller product and Wiremold, a leading wiring system company, had the combined expertise to produce energy smart power management systems. Customer research informed an integrated campaign that included a trade show video, collateral material, web content and new print advertising.

Mintz & Hoke also was recognized by the Westchester/Fairfield, Southern Connecticut and Connecticut Valley chapters of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). The agency took home a 2010 Mercury Award "Best In Show" for Public Relations Campaigns. The judges cited the work for the Connecticut Department of Health’s community relations campaign "Up Your Flu IQ" as "comprehensive" and "well-executed" with "diverse tactics to spread the message." The agency also received a gold in the Not-for-Profit category. Mintz & Hoke's work for the State of Connecticut’s Connect-Ability initiative won a gold in the Public Affairs campaign category and another gold for its newsletter.
